Helen Newton


Helen Newton, 84, of Springfield, passed away in her home on June 13, 2007.

She was born June 4, 1923 in Clark County, Ohio to Otis L. and Ella (Harper) Dement. She was a graduate of Community School of Nursing and retired from Mercy Medical Center in 1987 after many years of service as a Registered Nurse.

Survivors include two sons and spouse, James (Irene) Newton of Springfield and Paul Newton of Westminster, Colorado; two grandchildren and spouse, Lindsay (Mike) Carlson and Paul J. Newton. She was preceded in death by her husband Max, one brother Wilbur Dement and a sister Thelma Ihrig.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Conroy Funeral Home with Pastor David Yingling officiating, the family receiving friends two hours prior. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Marks United Methodist Church in Springfield.
