Gertrude E. Nicolet
Gertrude E. Goheen Nicolet, 90, of Springfield died Sunday, October 26, 2008 in Villa Springfield. She was born in Coalton, Ohio on March 18, 1918, the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Clara (Partlow) Powell.
Gertrude attended Meadow Grove Church. Her hobby was crocheting. Gertrude had also been a nurse's aide with Good Shepherd Village and Community Hospital, but spent most of her time taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Lugene Goheen and William Nicolet; brothers Floyd, Bill, and Jake Powell; sisters Mildred Waulk, Margie Wolfe, and Geraldine Sherry.
Gertrude has left to cherish her memory three daughters Phyllis (Lee) Marks of Springfield, Joan (Ralph) Lusby of Delaware, Janet (Harry) Boden of St. Johns, AZ, step daughter Bonnie Kreamer of Mt Gilead; two sons Lloyd (Jamie) Goheen of Mechanicsburg and Larry (Marsha) Goheen of Urbana; one brother Norman (Carrie) Powell of McArthur; fourteen grandchildren; twenty- seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5-7 PM in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. Services will be Thursday at 2:00 PM in the memorial home with Minister Mike Surgenor officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
