Trudi Jean McConkey


Trudi Jean (Maurer) McConkey, 44, of Springfield, was called Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, September 21, 2008 in Miami Valley Hospital, following a valiant battle with Cystic Fibrosis. She was born August 31, 1964 in Springfield, the daughter of Kenneth and Betty (Shaffer) Maurer.

Trudi was a very active and devoted member of Grace Bible Church. She enjoyed camping, reading, cross stitch and teaching her daughters. She will be remembered as always helping others and putting others first. Trudi had been employed as the office manager for Dr. Butts until his death.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 22 years; Bruce McConkey, three daughters; Jennifer McConkey and twins Rachal and Rebecca McConkey, her mother; Betty Maurer, siblings; Jerry (Barbara) Maurer, Chris (John) Haughey all of Springfield, twin brother; William (Ann) Maurer, Derry, Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; Kenneth Maurer, a sister; Jeanette Maurer and a brother; Ken Alan Maurer.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday in Grace Bible Church, 1500 Groop Road, Springfield, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday in Grace Bible Church with Pastor Marv Wiseman and Pastor Jason Storie officiating. Burial will follow in Vale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made at Fifth Third Bank to assist with Trudi's daughters' college education.

Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
