Susan A. Massie


Susan A. Massie, 48, of North Hampton, passed away Friday morning, October 31, 2008 in Riverside Methodist Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born in Troy, Ohio on August 4, 1960 the daughter of Melvin and Helen (Slauter) Coder.

Susan enjoyed caring for others in many capacities. This caring was reflected in her being an organ donor at her death.

Survivors include her mother, Helen Coder of Springfield; husband of 25 years, Larry D. Massie; son, Matt Massie at home; three daughters, Candy Shellabarger of Kettering, Katie Massie and Stacey Massie, both of Springfield; a sister, Sherrie (Norman) Nelson of Fairborn; four grandchildren, Ben and Noah Shellabarger, Sammy Massie, and Mackenzie Hibner; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and she was blessed with many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father in 2001 and a son, Nathan Massie in 2006.

A service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Norman Hayes officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
