Robert E. "Bob" Mowell


Robert E. "Bob" Mowell, 78, of Springfield passed away on March 2, 2008 in his residence.

He was born on July 5, 1929 in Summerford, Ohio the son of Clarence J. and Bertha (Haynes) Mowell.

He served our country in the United States Navy from 1950-1954. Bob and his wife Mary owned and operated Kart and Golf Land for over thirty-three years. He was a Pattern Maker at Zerkle Patterns for over twenty years, owned M & R Properties and co-owner of the Ooh Ooh Drive Thru.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Mary (Hawke) Mowell, one son, Steven Mowell, one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Richard Knisley, brother and sister-in-law, Clarence John Jr. and Virginia Mowell, granddaughter, Stacie Van Beber (Mark Adkins), two great grandsons, Brayson and Camdon Adkins, special friend and caregiver, Frank Owens all of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Ida Hawke, Ruth Harsh, and Emma Creager; one brother, Harold T. Mowell, and grandson Kenneth Van Beber III.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Moehn of the New Hope Four Square Church. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
