Ralph Morgan


Ralph Morgan, 83, of Springfield went to his reward Thursday morning, August 23, 2007.

He was born February 23, 1924 in Elkhart, Indiana, the son of Ralph Sr. and Janette (Randall) Morgan.

He graduated from Elkhart High School and went on to Wayne University in Detroit, Michigan with a full saxophone scholarship. Ralph was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving our country proudly during World War II with the 556th Bomb Squadron over Germany. He was employed for 30 years by the Selmer Band Instrument Company in Elkhart, Indiana. After retirement, he moved to Springfield, Ohio and with his wife Georgia they started a business making fine clarinet and saxophone mouthpieces and accessories which are sold worldwide.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Georgia (Teach) Morgan of Springfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Steve Mills of Elkhart, Indiana; one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Maxine Morgan of Charlotte, North Carolina; one stepdaughter, Holly (Jim) Stir; two stepsons, David (Pamela) Campbell and Brian (Debby) Campbell; six grandchildren, Christopher and Alyson Campbell, Lauren Stir, Seth Morgan, Liberty Cantzler and Stephanie Mills; four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Edward Morgan.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, August 27, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. with Pastor Jed Rosenthal officiating.
