Nancy Lee Maxwell


Nancy Lee Maxwell, 70, of Springfield, Ohio passed away, Friday, January 30, 2009 at 12:28 p.m. at Springfield Regional Medical Center, East High Campus.

Nancy was born on October 2, 1938 in Moundsville, West Virginia.

She worked for the State of Ohio at P.E.R.S., Columbus until she retired. Nancy was a faithful member of Spirit of Truth Ministries. She was dedicated to serving God by serving others. She loved caring for patients as a volunteer at St. John's Nursing home and helped bring joy at Christmas time each year by giving teddy bears to those at the local MRDD home in Springfield.

Nancy is survived by brothers, Carl (Margaret) Bobo of New Albany, Ohio and Wilson (Mary Jo) Bobo of Westerville, Ohio; sisters, Karen Chapman and Mary (Dale) York, both of Columbus, Ohio; 13 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and nephews; one great-great niece; and special cousins, Jackie Sayre, Ralph and Betty Sayre Family, Walter and Doris Brown Family, Christopher and Diane Kruskamp Family, all of Athens, Ohio. Also surviving are Nancy's dear friends and caregivers, Pastor Don and Cathy Young and their family of Enon.

She was preceded in death by her adopted mother, Bessie Maxwell, her biological mother, Ola Bobo, and brother, Ronald Bobo.

Nancy's funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Don Young officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, New Albany, Ohio.
