Gordon Frederick Max

Gordon Frederick Max, in his 88½ year dash between November 3, 1919 and June 2, 2008, Gordon experienced an abundant and diverse amount of activities and travels. He was born in Warren, Ohio, then a 30-year plus residence of Springfield and had been living in Estero, Florida since 1992. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenore H. (Merritt) Max in 1994. He is survived by his only daughter and son-in-law, Margo and Scott McDaniel and her family, beloved grandchildren, Audrey, Isaac, Joshua and Miriam.

He charmed most everyone he met without purposing to. We will miss his wonderful, distinctive voice and turn of phrase. He has passed on his enjoyment of life's genuine pleasures to us. "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye." (Antoine Saint-Exupery)

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Christian Church, 2301 Valley Loop Road, Springfield, Ohio. Jesus said: "Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life." (John 5:24)
