Erma J. Monroe
Erma J. (Dixon) Monroe, 77, of Terre Haute, Ohio died Saturday, December 27, 2008 in Mercy St. John's Center following a short illness.
She was born November 15, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of Clyde and Gladys Dixon. Mrs. Monroe and her husband were long time members of R.E.A.C.T.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years Roy E. Monroe; one son and daughter-in-law Roy W. "Bill" and Marion "Sis" Monroe; three daughters and sons-in-law Penny L. and Steve Stringfellow, Pamela and Danny Rinehart, all of Terre Haute and Cindy and Steve Huffman of Urbana; one brother and two sisters-in-law Claude "Sonny" and Jane Dixon of Columbus, Ohio and Annabelle Hartley of Springfield; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Yvonne Monroe and sister LaVonda Stewart.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 7:00 PM. in Grace Missionary Baptist Church, Springfield with Pastor Orbie Estep officiating. The family will receive visitors in the church Tuesday from 5-7 PM.
The family is being served by RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
