Peter B. Logan


Peter B. Logan, 65, of New Carlisle, formerly of Longacre, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 of an extended illness.

He was born June 30, 1943 in Montgomery, West Virginia the son of the late Roy & Clara (Ostrom) Logan. Pete was a graduate of Montgomery High School, Montgomery, West Virginia, a Vietnam veteran in the United States Navy, and retiree from Chrysler Corporation. He was a member of the U.A.W and V.F.W. Post 9684 Medway, Ohio. Pete will be remembered by those who loved him for his love of the hills of West Virginia and the beautiful poetry he wrote.

Pete is survived by his sons, Tony Logan of Jacksonville, Florida, Senior Master Sergeant Dana & Josie Logan of Belleville, Illinois, Travis Logan of Ohio; a daughter, Tracy & Jeff Evans of Longwood, Florida; nine grandchildren, Samantha & Amanda Logan, Justine, Kristine & Logan Evans, Mackenzie, Jameson, Mitchell & Jackson Logan; sisters, Mary Moore & Becky Slayton of Fayettville, West Virginia, Judy Holmes of Poca, West Virginia; sisters-in-law, Nelda Logan of Smithers, West Virginia & Vera Durst of Springfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Jim & Alva "Corky" Logan; sisters, Carole Peterson & Betty Jane Slayton.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday February 25, 2009 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, with a visitation 4-6 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Autism Association, 1330 W. Schatz Lane, Nixa, MO 65714.
