Nell Seggerson Lloyd


Nell Seggerson Lloyd, 97, of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Springfield, died at 3:25 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009 in Overland Park, Kansas. She was born August 15, 1911 in Springfield, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude (Whalen) Seggerson.

She had been employed as a welfare coordinator for Mercy Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia #207 and the Altar Rosary Sodality.

Survivors include her two daughters and spouses, Gertrude & Charles Pitt, Pensacola, Florida and Kathrin & Robert Deady, Lenexa, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; John & Michelle Pitt, Amy & Keith Fuquay, James & Kimberly Pitt, Frank Pitt, Douglas & Kelly Sullivan Deady, David Deady & Crystal Howard, Susan & David Burgett. 12 great grandchildren, Michael Pitt, Kimbrelly Pitt, Keith Fuquay, Heather Fuquay, Catherine Fuquay, Johnathan Pitt, Myranda Pitt, Lauren Deady, Connor Deady, Declan Deady, Emerson Burgett, and Kaden Burgett, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1986, brother Jack Seggerson and two sisters, Angela DuBois and Marguerite O'Neil.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2009 in St. Teresa Church. Friends may call one and a half hours prior to the service at CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio.
