Lesta Alice (Simon) Lavelle
Lesta Alice (Simon) LaVelle, 71, of Springfield passed away at 12:55 AM Tuesday, October 9, 2007 in Community Hospital.
She was born September 23, 1936 in Springfield the daughter of Francis and Edna (Keaton) Simon. Mrs. LaVelle attended the Grace Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed arts and crafts, bingo, and weaving hats.
Survivors include three children: Alan R. LaVelle (Annette Banks), Miriam A. (Paul) Mayse, and Timothy L. (Elizabeth) LaVelle, all of Springfield, a step son William N.(Sheila) LaVelle, Springfield, grand children: Gerald E. Hartman III (Tina Atkinson), Scott LaVelle, Melissa LaVelle, Angela S. Tuttle, Chad E. Flanagan (Kelly Brennan) , Cassie LaVelle, Traci LaVelle, Lea Banks, Lee Banks, Jesse Banks, Steven Kepla, great grandchildren: Patrick Michael Hartman, Hannah Flanagan, Michael Atkinson, Anthony Atkinson, Corwin Harris, a sister Edna Finley, Marysville and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Alan LaVelle, a step daughter Pamela Scott, sisters Wilma Hobson and Leona Good, brothers Thomas, John and Leroy Simon, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUENRAL HOME with Rev. David Hoagland officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services.
