Joseph F. Lovell


Joseph F. Lovell, 71, of Springfield, died Wednesday March 5, 2008 in Oakwood Village.

He was born February 9, 1937 in Taunton, Massachusetts, the son of Frederick J. and Ellen (Gauthier) Lovell.

He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an assembler for International / Navistar retiring in 2000 and had previously worked at Springfield Metallic Casket Company for twelve years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Joe's memberships include the Knights of Columbus Council 624 and United Auto Workers Local 402 retirees.

Survivors include his daughter Julie Lovell of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Michelle Lovell of Zanesville, Ohio; three sisters, Mary (Elwood) Shepard, Anna Morrow, Rita (Walter) Wisz; two brothers, Gerard (Barbara) Lovell and Charles (Cheryl) Lovell; sister-in-law, Barbara Lovell all of Massachusetts; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Margaret Silvia of New Hampshire; four grandchildren, Shannan, Brittany, Lindsay and Skylar Lovell; step-grandson, Zachary; close friend and companion, Rose Griffin and her two daughters, Linda and Cheryl; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Jean (Silvia) Lovell; sister, Clare Lovell and brother, James Lovell.

Private funeral services will be held for the family.

The family is being served by LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
