John J. Lethcoe


John J. Lethcoe, Sr., 68, of Springfield, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2007 in his residence.

He was born February 8, 1939 in Springfield, OH to Joseph and Kate (Lockhart) Lethcoe. John worked as an assembly line coordinator for Parker Sweeper for 32 years and later was employed with MetalTek for 12 years. He was an avid bowler and former member of the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet M. (Hixon); 3 children, John J. (Tracy) Lethcoe, Jr., Vickie (Tom) Gordon, Springfield and Gail (Rob) Foster, Cable, OH; 6 grandchildren, Sonya, Marie, Erika, Lacy, Audrey and Ian; 2 brothers, William "Bill" Lethcoe, Springfield and Richard "Ike" (Marie) Lethcoe, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister, Virginia O'Connor preceded him in death.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Fr. Paul Hurst officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice.
