Raymond R. Kohut


Raymond R. Kohut, 73, of Springfield, died peacefully at 6:10 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008, in his residence following 10 years of failing health.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 2, 1935 the son of Steve and Ann (Popovich) Kohut. He was a Cement Mason for Cleveland Cement and after moving to Springfield worked for Baker Cement for a number of years. He was a member of the Union Club and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sharon (Erskine); three sons and spouses, Jeffrey "Scott" and Vicki Kohut of Dayton, Leslie "Butch" and Christine Kohut of Mechanicsburg and James "Babe" Kohut of Springfield; sister, Karen Wunderle of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Chelsea, Ashley, Seth, Elishia and many nieces and nephews.

His sister, Elaine, preceded him in death.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Fr. Paul Hurst officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
