Martha Jane (Cooke) Kennedy
Martha Jane (Cooke) Kennedy, 73, of Springfield, passed away at 10:55 PM Friday, October 12, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center.
She was born August 16, 1934 in Springfield the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Evans) Cooke. Martha worked for River Dale Dairy for 23 years and for the Christian Day Care for 15 years. She was a member of the Maiden Lane Church of God.
Survivors include her husband Marvin Kennedy, two sons: Robert (Christina) Kennedy and Jerry (Diana) Kennedy, nine grandchildren: Ashleigh Marie, Jacob Robert, Kaitlyn Paige, Abigail Elizabeth, Jennifer, Jami, Danielle and Tyler Kennedy and Allison Craig, four brothers: Marlin (Leah) Cooke, Ellis (Jean) Cooke, Norman Cooke and Lloyd (Christine) Cooke, one sister Maryanna (John) Shingler, and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Clarence Jr., Ernest, Kenneth and Eldon Cooke, and two sisters: Donna and Evelyn.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 until 8 PM Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday in the Maiden Lane Church of God with Pastor Mark Martin officiating. Additional visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services in the church. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery.
