Jean Alma Kestner


Jean Alma Kestner, 84, of Springfield passed away Wednesday morning, December 31, 2008 in the Villa Springfield.

She was born September 19, 1924 in Edison, Ohio, the daughter of Ellery and Erma (Campbell) Merwine. Jean was a very devoted and proud mother of her six beloved sons.

Survivors include her sons and spouses, Jim Cobb, Lonnie (Sharon) of Springfield, Darrel (Annette) of Blacklick, Ohio, Larry (Lorraine), James (Barbara) and Stephen (Leslie) Kestner all of Springfied; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty and Donna Merwine both of Springfield and Mary Lou (William) Tritle of Springfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul (Pat) Merwine of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parent and husband, Leonard Kestner in 2004.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 2-5 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park.
