Carolyn Sue Kellis


Carolyn Sue Kellis, 63, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in her residence.

She was born on May 10, 1945 in Humbolt, Ohio the daughter of Everett Mick and Dorothy (Myers) Watkins.

Carolyn devoted her life to care to the mentally disabled and volunteered for Big Brothers/Big Sisters for many years. She was also a teacher and camp counselor with Scioto Church Camp for over thirty years. Carolyn retired from TAC II Industries after over fifteen years of service.

She is survived by her mother, one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Chad Kaufman of Shiloh, Ohio; one son, Shawn Matthew Kellis of Springfield; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Marilyn Eakins of Centerville; Linda and Jerald Brinley of Centerville; and Pamela Dabe of Springfield; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Ronald and Jeanette Mick of Springfield; John and Kazuko Mick of Springfield; Tony Mick of Springfield; and Christopher and Jill Watkins of Illinois; four grandchildren: Kayleigh Joy and Rebekah Joy Kaufman, and Darrian Michelle and Payden Kellis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call one hour prior to the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army, 15 S. Plum St., Springfield, Ohio 45504 or the Scioto Youth Camp, c/o Carl Morgan, 2701 Twp. Rd. 185, Junction City, OH 43748.
