Mitzi K. Jones
Mitzi K. Jones, 53 of Springfield died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center High St. Campus following a courageous 26 month battle with cancer.
She was born in Warsaw, Indiana on August 14, 1954, the daughter of Roscoe and Miriam Ann (Kohl) Greene.
Mitzi prior to her illness had worked for Gordon Food Service for several years. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Mitzi was a member of Norris Chapter #426, Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents and mother in law Anesta Jones.
Mitzi is survived by her husband of 34+ years Jerry J. Jones, whom she married June 30, 1973; one son Chad Jones; one daughter Mary & Tim Swank; father in law Milton Jones all of Springfield; one brother Doug Hamilton of West Monroe, LA; two sisters Vicki & Kenny Cranford of Milton, FL, Deborah & Rudy Kirkland of West Monroe, LA; step sister Diane Neary of Milton, FL; three grandchildren Lauren & Mackenzie Swank, and Katelyn Jones; several nieces and nephews; special friend Martha Thompson.
Friends and family may call Friday from 5-8 pm in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Services will be Saturday at 2:00pm in the memorial home with Pastor Gary L. Day of Berea Bible Church officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
