Charles William Johnson


Charles William "Bill" Johnson, 66, of Enon, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was born in Xenia, Ohio, on February 9, 1942 to Fred Johnson of Xenia and his late mother, Ruth "Louise" Johnson Curtis .

Bill enjoyed softball; bowling; golf; spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his family; and traveling with his wife. He retired from Pepsi Co. in 2004 after 30 years of service, and received numerous Achievement Awards and acknowledgements for excellent service.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lois; his father and step-mother, Fred and Jean Johnson (Xenia); his 3 sons, Tim (Christy) Johnson (Mesa, Arizona), Chuck (Debbie) Johnson (Beavercreek); and Shannin (Shawna) Johnson (Jacksonville, North Carolina); his 4 daughters, Karen Meade (Centerville), Melinda (David) Vieu (Enon), Trina Bledsoe (Oakwood), and Michelle (David) Johnson, Springfield; his 3 brothers, Jim (Karen) Johnson, Jamestown; Gary (Debbie) Johnson, Xenia, and James "Keith" (Donna) Reynolds, Jamestown; his 18 grandchildren, Carrie, James, Kalibb, Cameron, Braden, Haley, Brittney, Joshua, Chelsea, Ryan, Nick, Chelsea, Chase, Chris, Elisabeth, Chloe, Tyler, and Josh; his beloved dog, Angel; and numerous family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, his sister, Nancy Kay Sparks; his brother, Bob Johnson; and his granddaughter, Kellie Johnson.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 22, 2009 in Adkins Funeral Home, Enon with Pastor Larry Bannick and Pastor Bill Rowe officiating. Burial will follow the service in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers Bill's family asks that donations be made to a Hospice of your choice. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
