Carol Lynn Johnson

Carol Lynn Johnson, 56, a resident of the Heinzerling Developmental Center, Columbus and formerly of Springfield, Ohio joined our Lord on Monday morning, February 16, 2009.

She was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 31, 1952 the daughter of Melford I. and Anne R. (Landymore) Johnson.

Carol is survived by both parents of Seminole, Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Randall and Pamela Johnson of Ghent, New York; Dr. Richard and Valerie Johnson of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Catherine Lee Johnson in 1973.

Throughout her life, Carol longed to be free from the chains of her body and reunite with loved ones passed - and prepare a welcome for friends and family who will follow. Music provided her with a welcome escape from her difficult circumstances. She appreciated and depended upon the kindness of others who provided her care and kind words. Her love, humor and gentle touch will be missed by those who appreciated the trials she endured in life.

The family wishes to express their enduring gratitude to the doctors and staff of the Heinzerling Developmental Center and later Odyssey Hospice, Columbus for the selfless and abiding care given to Carol during her illness.

A brief memorial service for her will be held for Carol at a later date.

Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery in Pennsylvania.

Donations to the Heinzerling Foundation or United Cerebral Palsy are encouraged in lieu of flowers.

The LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield is serving the family during this time.
