Sara Hatfield


Sara Hatfield, 55, of Springfield, died at 7:10 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2008 in Community Hospital. She was born on April 1, 1953 in Springfield, the daughter of Francis and Maxine (Wertz) Kuss.

She had worked for a number of years in sales at Ohio Coin.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Messer of Springfield; two children and spouse, Becky & Calvin Laywell and Dustin Messer all of Springfield; three grandchildren, Dylan, Steven and Courtney Laywell; three sisters. Linda Ervin and Frances Kuss of Springfield and Kathy DeCourse of Lima; one brother, John Kuss of Springfield and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sara was a very loving mother who was highly involved with her grandkids.

Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home with Fr. Dennis Caylor officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
