Ralph R. Hoyng


Ralph R. Hoyng, 82, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Tuesday December 23, 2008. He was born March 10, 1926 in Celina, Ohio the son of the late Urban & Cleopha (Stelzer) Hoyng.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a member of American Legion Post 286. He retired from McCauley Aircraft Corp. and THT. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Carlisle and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by three daughters, Deborah & Jim Flint of Brookville, Ohio, Karen & Fred Kramer of Dayton, Ohio, Pam & John Moore of Jamestown, Ohio; two sons, John & Angie Hoyng, Larry Hoyng all of New Carlisle; six grandchildren, Jason, Stacy, Chad, Robert, Jeanna, & Shaun; thirteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald (Mainie) & Louis (Dorothy) Hoyng; a sister, Marita Uhlenhake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann; a brother, Ronald and two sisters, Mary Lou & Germaine.

A gathering of family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2008 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Michael Bidwell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Building Fund or Knights of Columbus Council 6144.
