Robert E. Horstman


Robert E. Horstman, 90, of Springfield, died at 8:00 p.m. Friday October 26, 2007 in Hearth and Home.

He was born July 11, 1917 in Springfield, OH to John H. and Edith (Geiger) Horstman. Bob retired as Vice President of Manufacturing for the R & M Company after 45 years of service. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Secular Franciscans, K of C Council 624, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Rotary Club, a former Springfield City Commissioner, a graduate of The Ohio State University where he was a member of the golf team and was a WW 2 Army Air Corp Veteran.

He is survived by 8 children and spouses, Rita (Larry) Novakowski, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Linda Fraley, Morro Bay, CA, Robert (Diane) Horstman, Lake Orion, MI, John (Verna) Horstman, Franklin, KY, Mary Litvin, Port St.Lucie, FL, Martha (Bill) Horstman Evans, Denver, CO, Len (Teresa) Horstman, West Jefferson, OH and Cliff Horstman, Columbus, OH; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 6 sisters, Mary Catherine Pauly, Betty Ebenger, Springfield, OH, Margaret Chambers, Tucson, AZ, Irene (Ben) Myers, Angela (John) Martin, Springfield, OH and Ann (Joseph) Falkenbach, Medway, OH; a brother, John Horstman, Cincinnati, OH; a sister in law, Margie Horstman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa M. in 2000, a son Raymond and 2 brothers, Francis X. and Roger L. Horstman.

Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in St. Teresa Church with burial in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
