Ronald Carlton Heeren


Ronald Carlton Heeren, 68, of New Carlisle, Ohio went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2008 after a long courageous battle against cancer.

He was born in Henry Co., Illinois to the late Russell & Julia Stoner-Heeren.

He spent most of his childhood in Wheelersburg & Sciotoville, Ohio and graduated from Portsmouth East High School, class of 1960. In 1963-64, he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wood County 1178. Married Letty Frances Kalb in Valley Methodist Church on the 3rd of January 1964. Ron was employed by Jim's Door Service of New Carlisle, Wayne Overhead Door of Dayton and Retired from Chrysler Corp. in 2001. Ron enjoyed woodworking, a good corny joke, and visiting with his family, friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his wife Letty; daughter Julia (Jill) & David Cole of Arizona, son Ronald Heeren & Adrienne Strunk of New Carlisle. Three granddaughters (Ron's Angels) Brandy Cornett of New Carlisle, Ashley Cornett of Phoenix, Arizona and Stephanie Cornett of Phoenix, Arizona. Three sisters; Joyce Altermann of Olympia, Washington, Joan Jenkins of Viola, Illinois and Jeanette Diane (Earl) Triplett of Minford, Ohio. He will be sadly missed by his family, many friends, and canine companion Roxie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Janet Dena Heeren.

A gathering of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday May 27, 2008 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Elliott & Pastor Jeff Burdsall officiating. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery.
