Roger F. Hallock


Roger F. "Nick" Hallock, 85, of North Hampton passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in Hearth & Home.

He was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 31, 1923, the son of Arthur Dewey and Elizabeth (Neer) Hallock.

Nick was a member of the Eagles and loved to go fishing. His entire life he was a farmer and the owner and operator of the Hallock Sawmill.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents; wife Clara Ethel (Dolihite) Hallock; and a sister Martha Baker.

His survivors include one daughter and son-in-law Janet and John Banta of Xenia; one son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Angela (Decker) Gray of Springfield; one granddaughter Emily Williams; seven grandsons Ronald and Donald Sansom, Charles and Tina Sansom, Scott and Linda Sansom, John A. Banta, Rodney and Roberta Banta, and Patrick and Bonnie Banta; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Harry Baker; nephew Alan Baker; four sisters-in-law Claudia Lynch, Louise Salter, Peggy and Alan Goudy, and Mary Harden; cousin Wendell and Lillian Cushman; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; special friends Steve and Pat Mumma.

Family and friends may call Friday from 6-8 PM in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. A celebration of Nick's life will be Saturday at 10:00 AM in the memorial home with John Wilson and Pastor Chad Fallis officiating. Burial to follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society.
