Opal Elizabeth Herzog


Opal Elizabeth (Ryman) Herzog, 90, went to be with the Lord, peacefully in her sleep on August 15, 2008 after a brief illness.

She was born October 18, 1917 in Clark County, Ohio, the daughter of Elmer and Anna Mary (Click) Ryman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Sebastian J. (Boots) Herzog as well as four brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by one sister, Anna Pearl Noble of Stanford, Kentucky as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

Opal was a 1935 graduate of Lawrenceville High School and was retired from International Steel Wool. She loved traveling, playing euchre and spending time with family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Asbury Methodist Church where she was involved in many activities.

At her request, her body was donated to the Wright State University School of Medicine.

A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2008 in the Asbury Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Asbury Methodist Church in Opal's memory.
