Nicholas Cole Jonathon Haney


Nicholas Cole Jonathon "Nick" Haney, 17 of Springfield, passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident on Sunday, April 27, 2008.

He was born on September 24, 1990 in Springfield the son of Douglas E. Haney and Annette Haney (Foster) McDonald.

Nick was quick witted, had a wonderful sense of humor, and always made you smile. He was a junior at Northwestern High School where he participated in theatrical arts, wrestling, basketball, and soccer.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Annette and Bob McDonald of Springfield, father and step-mother, Douglas and Kelly Haney of Springfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Brandon M. and Jenny Haney of Galloway, Ohio; one sister, Courtney L. Haney-Yates of Springfield; three step brothers: Casey, Corey, and Timothy; one step sister, Andrea; special niece, Baylee Yates; maternal grandparents: Lynne Bailey of Springfield and Dan Bailey of Centerville; Larry and Pam Freeman of West Milton; paternal grandparents: Lovell J. and Mary Haney of Springfield, Carolyne McDonald of Springfield, Glenda DeWitt of Springfield, great grandparents: Helen and Jack Engle of Springfield, and Ruby Freeman of Vandalia; several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Maiden Lane Church of God, 1201 Maiden Lane. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nick Haney Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Huntington National Bank.
