Marcella R. Haemmerle


Marcella R. "Sally" Haemmerle, 94, of Springfield, died at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in Hearth & Home-El Camino.

She was born January 23, 1914 in Reading, Ohio to Phillip and Katherine (Santel) Peters.

She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church where she served as a Sacristan for a number of years, C.L. of C. #207, Altar Rosary Sodality and was a volunteer for Birthline.

Survivors include three children and spouses Don and Linda Haemmerle, Morrow, OH, Doris and Jim Shaloo, Urbana, Ohio, Dan and Rosemary Haemmerle; daughter-in-law, Peggy Haemmerle, Springfield; eight grandchildren, Todd, Scott, Eric Haemmerle, Amy Paul, Lynnette Girard, Kathy Berg, Toby and Holly Haemmerle; nine great grandchildren; sister, Helen Nolan, St. Augustine, FL; brother, Bob Peters, Cincinnati, Ohio; special friend and sister-in-law, Margaret Mary Haemmerle, Springfield, OH and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. in 1971, a son Richard, grandchildren Janice Krumanaker and Stephen Haemmerle, 1 sister and 2 brothers.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Richard Darr and the staff at Hearth & Home-El Camino for their compassion and care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Teresa Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass at church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
