Kathleen B. Harley


Mrs. Kathleen B. Harley, age 92, of Greenville, passed away on June 6, 2011 at 4:35 a.m. at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio.

She was born on August 13, 1918 in Delphi, Indiana, to the late Frank & Cozie (Hufford) Barnhart.

Kathleen was a homemaker and a lifelong volunteer in church work, mental health, Low Vision of Darke County, and served on the Board of Directors of the Good Samaritan Home since 2002.

She was also a member of the local Citizens Circle re-entry program since 2005. She was a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren and was an avid gardener.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Harley; daughter, Joyce Doan; and son-inlaw, Art Berman.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald G. & Saundra Harley of Batavia, Ohio; daughter, Sharon Berman of Memphis, Tennessee; son-inlaw, Dr. Rosh Doan and wife Ginger Warfield of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Shawn (Susan) Harley, Lisa (Duke) Duncanson, Marisha Doan, and Rivka (Scott) Zemke; great grandchildren, Rachel, Tyler, and Austin Duncanson; brother and sister-in-law, Robert F. & Ruth Barnhart of Bardstown, Kentucky; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Greenville Church of the Brethren, 421 Central Avenue, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating.

Burial will follow in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle, Ohio, at 3:00 PM.
