John F. Harris


John F. Harris, 57, of Springfield, passed away at 9:27 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 following a lengthy illness. He was born December 16, 1951 in Springfield, the son of John B. and Joan (Burk) Harris-Freeman.

John had a special passion for cars, the outdoors and boating.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Joan (Eldon) Freeman, Springfield; four children and spouses, Jennifer (Dion) Bowser, Ryan (Brooke) Harris, Kristin (Jesse) Howard and Amie (Duke) Cooper, all of Springfield; five grandchildren, Cydni and Cierra Bowser and Kellen, Peyton and Tanner Harris; one sister, Anne Amato; three brothers and sister-in-law, Mark, Steve and Pat (Mary) Harris; step-brothers and sisters, Cindy (Ronnie) Price, Joe (Melinda) Freeman, Tom Freeman and Terri (Steve) Williams; special friends, Sandy and Keith Guyton and George and Bert Bolin along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father.

John enjoyed spending time with his children and grandkids who held a special place in his heart. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in St. Joseph Church with Deacon Norm Horstman and Pastor Craig Grammer officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
