Gerry R. Hunt
Gerry R. Hunt, 80, of Springfield, died Monday morning, June 25, 2007 in her residence. She was born in Springfield on July 12, 1926 the daughter of Harry and Monnie (Rhoden) Muirhead.
Gerry lived in Ft. Myers, Florida for 25 years before returning to Springfield four years ago. She worked as a realtor for Lennar Homes in Ft. Myers and was one of their top sales people. While in Springfield, she worked at O.I.C. and taught at Catholic Central High School.
Survivors include her four children, Emily Mitchell of Ventura, California, Vivian "Tuffy" (Larry) Haverkos of Urbana, Zachary Giffin of Millerstown, Ohio, and Gigi (Rick) Wise of Springfield; four grandchildren, Aaron Giffin, Eliza Wise, Hannah Wise, and Erica Giffin; a brother, Harry (Thelma) Muirhead of Urbana; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thurman Hunt; two sisters, Mary Jean Moore and Betty Jo Herzog; and a nephew, Richard Herzog.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Rose Hill Burial Park with Pastor Julie Carmean officiating.
