Claude E. Heitzman


Claude E. Heitzman, 84, of Fairborn, Ohio passed away Wednesday May 21, 2008 at Patriot Ridge Community, Fairborn.

He was born November 2, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois the son of late Harry & Martha Heitzman.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the American Legion of New Carlisle and retired from Wright Patterson A.F.B. He was a member of I.E.E.E., NARF, the Bridge Group of Senior Citizens in Fairborn, St. Mark's Episcopal and grew up in the Brethren Church.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Kathryn; children, Mike (Lisa) Heitzman of New Carlisle, John Heitzman of St. Marys, Ohio, Lynda (Rick) Brown of Powell, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Nicki & David Obenshine, Emily & Deana Heitzman, David, Melissa, and Jennifer Connolly, Denise and Ricky Brown; numerous great grandchildren; a brother, Don Heitzman of Elkart, Indiana; a sister, Frances (Pete) Contreras of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, David Heitzman; and a brother, Jim Heitzman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday May 23, 2008 at the Chapel of Peace, Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 10:30 to 11 am in the Chapel. Arrangements by the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association Research Foundation, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
