Bonita G. (Bonnie) Heeg


Bonita G. "Bonnie" Heeg, 65, of Springfield, died Sunday morning, May 20, 2007 in her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 8, 1942 the daughter of Robert Logan and Glorine (Boner) Larimer.

Bonnie was a graduate of Columbus North High School and attended Columbus Bible Institute. She served as an advisor with the Camp Fire Girls and was a counselor with the Pathfinder 4-H Club. Her work with children also included working in her home with Jane Mitchell and children in the Bible Club, working with dyslexic children in her home as well as individually tutoring at Indian Springs School in Columbus. She was a member of Maiden Lane Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas L. Heeg; three children, Deborah Bishop of Crystal River, Florida, Patrick (Liz) Wilcox of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Jeffrey (Teresa) Wilcox of Waseca, Minnesota; three step-children; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Jake, Jesse, Holland, Amelia, and Logan; and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends including a special friend, Mary Jo Tucker.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Fiorini officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
