Verna L. Goody


Verna L. Goody, 79, of Springfield died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in Oakwood Village.

She was born in Pike County, Ohio on March 14, 1929, the daughter of Henderson and Pearl (Welch) Farmer. Verna retired as a shirt press operator with Miller Textile with 45 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dallas T. Goody in 2003; two sisters Martha Whitt and her twin Bernice Farmer; and one brother Arthur Farmer.

Verna has left to cherish her memory three daughters and two sons in law Karen (David) Brown of London, Carolyn (Jeff) Hunter of Catawba, and Deborah Farley of Springfield; one son and daughter in law George W. (Wendy) Goody of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one sister Elizabeth Tincher and one brother Mason (Grace) Farmer both of Springfield; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Services will be Saturday at 10:00 AM in the memorial home with Pastor Gene Kelly officiating. Burial to follow in Vernon-Asbury Cemetery.
