Thelma Louise Grieser
Thelma Louise Grieser, 88, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2009 in Villa of Springfield. She was born on March 15, 1920 in Tremont City, Ohio the daughter of Albert and Leota (Baker) Budd.
A 1938 graduate of North Hampton High School, she married Howard L. Grieser in August of 1948. She served as head cook at Northwestern High School until she retired.
Thelma is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, two sons and daughters-in-law: H. Steven and Joan Grieser of Springfield, and David and Kathy Grieser of Frisco, Texas; one sister, Laura Eubanks, of Springfield; five grandchildren and their spouses: Jeff and Cindy Grieser of Sunbury, Ohio; Scott and Dana Grieser of Frederick, Maryland; Tim and Meredith Grieser of New Carlisle; Amanda and Josh Thompson, Amy and Andrew George, both of Frisco, Texas; step grandchildren: Bret Carlyle, Jill McCarron, and Matt Carlyle all of Columbus; twelve great grandchildren: Ryan, Taylor, Zachary, and Logan of Sunbury; Cole, Shay, Dell, and Ty of Frederick, Maryland; Abigail, Annabelle, and Andrew "AJ", of New Carlisle; and Everette George of Frisco, Texas; step great grandchildren: Scott McCarron and Aaron and Amanda Carlyle all of Columbus, brother-in-law, Howard Shaffer of North Hampton, one niece and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Dorothy Armstrong and Mary Massie Shaffer, three brothers-in-law: Kenneth Armstrong, Floyd Massie, and Robert Eubanks, and one infant great-grandson, Rezner Thompson.
Thelma dedicated her life to helping others. She was an active life-long member of North Hampton Community Church and was also active in her community of Greenlawn Village. Her warm, loving smile and grace will remain a memory in our hearts.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor James Welch officiating. Burial will be in the Myers Cemetery.

The family would like to sincerely thank the many nurses and aids who have taken care of their mother at Villa of Springfield. We would also like to thank Vitas Hospice Services of Dayton for their support and care.
