Tim Allen Gothard


Tim Allen Gothard, 58, of Springfield passed away Tuesday morning, April 22, 2008 in the Zusman Community Hospice in Columbus, Ohio with his beloved family by his side.

He was born December 11, 1949 in Springfield, the son of Mary Catherine (Groves) Gothard.

Tim was a graduate of Graham High School and Tri State University in Angola, Indiana where he received a BA in Engineering and Surveying. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was on the board of Transportation Coordinating Committee (TCC) and retired from the city with 30 years of service as Director of Engineering and Planning. Tim was a very devoted worker and a man who loved his family dearly. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving and caring wife of 28 years, Susan E. (Sowers) Gothard; one daughter, Allison Gothard of Springfield; one son, Matt Gothard of Springfield and two brothers-in-law, Tom (Bonnie) Sowers of Springfield and Don (Connie) Sowers of Griffin, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Dave Augustus officiating.

Burial will follow in the Terre Haute Cemetery.
