Frances L. Goodfellow


Frances L. Goodfellow, 90, of South Vienna, OH went to be with the Lord at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008 at Hearth and Home El Camino.

She was born March 14, 1918 in Clark County, OH to the late Frank and Lucille (Terry) Climer.

She was a retired employee of the Northeastern Local Schools. Frances was a member of various Catholic Parishes including St. Bernard, St. Joseph and most recently attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a very active volunteer with the Clark County 4-H Advisory Committee and 4-H Clothing Committee. In 1982 she was awarded the Clark County Friend of 4-H Award. She was a member of the Clark County Homemakers Club, the Philea Club and enjoyed serving the Clark County Board of Elections as a poll worker for Pleasant Township.

Survivors include two daughters and spouses, Shirley and Gary Sherman and Patsy and Ed Dixon of New Carlisle, OH; three grandchildren and spouses, John and Denise Sherman, Brian and Meagan Dixon and Angela and Scott Cornett; four great grandchildren, Hailey and Madison Sherman, Brycen Dixon and Nolan Cornett; sisters in law, Rose Climer, LaRue, OH, Phoebe Dunham, Pataskala, OH, Marilyn Goodfellow, Mechanicsburg, OH and Bernice Goodfellow, Springfield, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William "Bill" Goodfellow and a brother, Elwood Climer.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Carlisle, with the family receiving friends ½ hour prior in the church. Burial will be in South Vienna Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Parish Building Fund or the Clark County 4-H Endowment Fund.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Hearth and Home El Camino, Dr. Cindy Knapp and Dr. Nha To for the excellent care provided to their mother.
