Dessie Mae Govan


Dessie Mae Govan, 94 of Springfield was called home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, December 8, 2007 in Essex of Springfield.

She was born February 2, 1913 in Glouster, Ohio a daughter of Payton and Lillian (Kiser) Wilkes.

For many years she owned and operated a restaurant in Chicago, Illinois.

She leaves to cherish her memory loving and devoted niece and nephews; Eileen Lawson Wilson, Maynard Wilkes, Floyd Wilkes, Robert Wilkes, Clyde Wilkes, Payton Wilkes, Larry Wilkes, Dennis Lawson and David Lawson.

Visitation for Mrs. Govan will be Friday, December 14, 2007 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
