Alice Marie Gaston


Alice Marie (Peck) Gaston, 93, of Springfield, died at 5:33 PM Saturday, November 22, 2008 in Oakwood Village's Glaesner Health Center following a few years of declining health.

She was born in New Moorefield, on July 8, 1915, to Enos and Martha (McAfee) Peck.

Survivors include three children; Kenneth (Lien) Gaston, of Tamuning, Guam, James Michael Gaston of Alhambra, California, and Patricia (Michael) Atchison of Mechanicsburg, grandchildren: Kevin (Ana) Gaston of Florida, Kelly (Pamela) Gaston of Maryland, Kimberly Gaston of Guam, Sean Miller of California, Amanda Palmer and Matt Borders of South Vienna, Todd Dill of Springfield, step grandchildren; Michelle ( Charles) Cox of Fairborn, Holly Beach of Huber Heights, Brandi Atchison of Springfield, great grandchildren; Calvin Gaston, Keana Gaston, Sean Miller Jr., Brian Miller, Noah Palmer, Abigail Palmer, Logan Dill, step great grandchildren; Charles Cox Jr., Leah Cox, Jacob Atchison, Brandon Atchison, Alexander Sharp, Alexis Beach, step great great grand daughter Tamara Cox, half brother; Paul Peck of Springfield, sisters-in-law; Lois Brown, Doris Burger both of Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Kenneth, three brothers; Robert, Everett and George and three sisters; Evelyn, Nellie and Burnett.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday in the funeral home with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Burial will be at Vale Cemetery.

Mrs. Gaston's family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Oakwood Village for all of their loving care and support.
