Martha M. Funk
Martha M. Funk, 89, loving wife and mother, of Springfield, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008, in Villa Springfield.
She was born in Springfield on May 24, 1918 the daughter of John J. and Minnie (Snyder) Palmer.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, volunteered for many social and political causes and worked at R & M Manufacturing during the war effort of World War II.
Survivors include her two children, Diane Funk and John Funk both of Springfield; many wonderful nieces and nephews including, Jack Palmer and Patty Lewis and lifelong friends, Maxine Luster, Ann Rogers, Sue Votaw and Martha and Bob Brown for their years of friendship, love and support.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman in 1974, two sisters, Helen Gnau and Mary Schutte and her big brother, John "Bus" Palmer.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Darr for his kindness and patience and special caregiver, Loretta Miller for her love and support throughout Martha's convalescence.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Villa Springfield Residents Activities Fund, 701 Villa Road, Springfield, Ohio 45503.
