James O. Flora


James O. Flora, 89, passed away at 9:15 AM Friday, February 20, 2009 in his residence in Xenia, Ohio. He was born October 26, 1919, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Neil and Florence (Smith) Flora.

Mr. Flora was a member of the Elderly United in Springfield and was a Veteran of the United States Navy during W. W. II. He was a retired mail carrier in Naugatuck, Connecticut.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years; Barbara (Gregg ) Flora, one son and daughter in law; James H. and Carolyn Flora, Springfield, step children; Dale (Lorraine) Greene, Bowersville, Ohio, Fred Blake, Lynchburg, Tennessee, Ruth (Daniel) Rue, Xenia, grandchildren; Gina Silvers, Cummings, Georgia, James R. (Teresa) Flora, Lynchburg, Tennessee, Ruth Neclerio, Birmingham, Alabama, several step grandchildren, great grandchildren; Mia and Sophia Neclerio, step great grandchildren; Miranda and Nathan Cavins, sisters and brother; Mary Johnson, Springfield, Eleanor Loos, Hollandale, Florida, Robert (Virginia ) Flora, Springfield, numerous nieces and nephews and life long family friends; George and Elaine Decker, Naugatuck, Ct., James Lee Gregg , Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; Ruth Flora, brother; Richard Flora, half brother; Richard Thompson and his parents.

A time of remembrance will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ; Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
