Nancy E. Ellsworth
Nancy E. Ellsworth, 95, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008 in the Ridgewood Nursing Home where she has been a resident for the past four and one half years.
She was born on August 22, 1912 in Point Pleasure, West Virginia to the late Charles and Allie (Crump) Dye.
In 1935, she married John W. Ellsworth who preceded her in death in 1997. Also preceding her in death were six brothers and four sisters.
Two sisters, Jane Forth of Bellefontaine and Gladys Luck of Springfield, survive her. In addition, surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She retired from Robbins and Myers Inc. after twenty plus years of employment. In years past she and her husband were active members of Central Christian Church. One of her passions in life was her great love and concern for animals. She was a long time member of the Animal Welfare League where over the years she held a number of different positions of responsibility.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call one hour prior to the time of service. Burial will be in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite animal organization.
