Martha Fern "Nan" England
Martha Fern "Nan" England, 90, of Springfield, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2008 in her residence after a brief illness.
She was born in Chapin, Illinois on August 23, 1917 the daughter of Chester and Anna (Rust) Johnson.
Martha worked as a supervisor for Kiefaber's Supply Company, Dayton for nine years. She was a member of Enon V.F.W. Post 8437 Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles as well as reading, but most of all she loved spending time with her family who will greatly miss her.
Martha is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn "Jackie" and David Mamer with whom she made her home; two grandchildren, Tammi (Mark) Overholser and Todd (Larae) McCubbins; and three great grandchildren, Adam and Sarah Overholser and Jack Ryan McCubbins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl J. England; a sister, Virginia Tengler; and a brother, Delmar Johnson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor H.C. O'Bryant officiating.
Burial will be in Byron Cemetery.
