George F. D. Edwards


George F. D. Edwards, 66, of Springfield, passed away at 9:50 AM Sunday, September 23, 2007 in St. John's Center.

He was born February 12, 1941 in Red Jacket, West Virginia the son of George and Effie (Clay) Edwards. Mr. Edwards enjoyed hunting and gardening and had worked at Ulery's Greenhouse.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years Genevieve (Monroe) Edwards, children; Gary Conley, Jerry Conley, Everett (Ann) Conley, John Conley, James Conley, Dola Conley, Lora (Mike) Poole, Teresa (Tom) Wargo and Patricia (Harold) Edwards, several grandchildren including Harold Edwards Jr. and Genevieve Green , several great grandchildren, sisters Ramona Blackwell and Oretha Cain and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sons Jason and Michael Conley, brothers Russell and Fred Edwards and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor David DeHart officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
