Douglas D. Edington


Douglas D. Edington, 58, of Springfield, died at 11:08 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Ohio State Medical Center. He was born August 20, 1950 in Springfield to Earl and Edna (Price) Edington, Sr..

He worked as head custodian for the City of Springfield where he retired and was also a United States Air Force veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Connie (Garrett); three children and spouses, James D. (Julie R.) Edington, Ericka (Todd) Schell and Todd (Christy) Edington, all of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Nathan, Baleigh, Mason, Tyler, Gracey and Adyison; two brothers and spouses, Darrell (Barbara) Edington and Larry (Jeanetta) Edington, all of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Olan L., Carlan and Earl Jr., a grandson, Ethan Andrew, an aunt, Gertrude Price and a niece, Ginger Edington.

Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Blaine officiating. Cremation to follow.
