William F. Detrick Jr.


William F. Detrick Jr., 77, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008 in the Dayton Veterans Hospital. He was born on February 4, 1931 in Portsmouth, Ohio the son of William F. Sr. and Erma (Gerlack) Detrick.

Mr. Detrick served our country in the United States Navy and attended Calvary Pentecostal Church in Richmond, Indiana. After returning home to Springfield, he worked at Schaefers Bakery for over thirty years and later retiring from Klosterman's Bakery.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Johnson, two sons and one daughter-in-law: Jeff and Evelyn Detrick, and Greg Detrick and Billie Aldridge; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters and one brother-in-law: Gwyneth and Donald Danley, Marlene Rollins, and Doris Smith all of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Juanita in 2002, and one brother, Gene.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Friends may call one hour prior to the time of service. Entombment with military honors will follow at the Rose Hill Mausoleum.
