Woodrow C. Demmy


Woodrow C. "Roe" Demmy, 92, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family, on Tuesday, November 25, 2008.

He was born on November 2, 1916, in Springfield, the son of Charles and Lottie (Huppman) Demmy. He was a farmer and owned and operated Demmy Sand and Gravel for many years.

Mr. Demmy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Dan and Anne Demmy of Springfield; and Steven and Sue Demmy of Beavercreek; five grandchildren: Marcy Bidwell, Barbie Stover, Julie (Scott) Mercier, Amy Demmy who lived with him, and Bonnie Harbage, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret of sixty-five years, and one son, Chuck.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 12-2:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. that day. Burial will be in the Enon Cemetery.
