Robert Lee Dudley


Robert Lee Dudley, 61, of Springfield, Ohio passed away at 3:20 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2009, in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Jamestown, Ohio on October 27, 1947, to Doris (Arnold) and William Dudley.

He retired in 2002 after 36 years at Navistar. His love of Harley Davidson Motorcycles led him to spend his "retirement years" working at Mid Ohio Harley Davidson. He was a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group and his passions for motorcycling took him on many wonderful trips across the country. He also attended numerous dirt track races.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 41 years, Peggy (Griffith), son William and daughter Kristen and her fianc&233;, Victor Baker, granddaughter Brianna and grandsons Caulin, Trevon, and Connor, all of Springfield.

Also surviving him are his sisters Kathy Massie and Toni (Bill) Zanish, brother in law, John Brooks, Mother in law, Virginia Newman of Clearwater, FL, sisters in law, Patricia (Joe) Athy of Springfield, Penny (Wayne) McConnell of Bastrop, TX, and Janice Griffith of Dunedin, FL, brother in law Rick (Nancy) Griffith of Bradenton, FL, his Aunt Ruthann Amburgey of Springfield, Robert (Jane) Reynolds of Bowersville, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition he leaves behind his dear friends Doug & Judy Wood, Gary & Patti Sellers, Dan & Diane Benning and Sam & Pat Simpson and special Physical Therapist Yolanda Bell and Nurse Julie Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Billie Jo Brooks.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 PM in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. A celebration of Robert's life will be Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the memorial home.
