Robert DeWitt, Jr.


Robert "Bob" DeWitt, Jr., 71, of Springfield, passed away at 4:05 AM Sunday, April 13, 2008 in Community Hospital.

He was born September 21, 1936 in Springfield, the son of James Robert and Ruth Anna (Smith) DeWitt.

Mr. DeWitt was retired form RICO Corporation.

Survivors include his loving companion of 16 years Sarah G. Wheeler, three children; Patti (Brian) Sells, Urbana, Daniel (Micki) DeWitt and Robin DeWitt (Mike Ouellette), Springfield, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters; Donna (Richard) Bayliss and Susan (Daniel) Weaver, Springfield, numerous nieces and nephews and close friend Robert Dyer, Springfield.

He was preceded in death by a son Larry E. Lyons and his parents.

Friends may call in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME from 5 until 8 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Glen Grim and Rev. Jay Burchwell officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. /p>
